Debt is the number one contribution to people getting bad credit histories, and subsequently resorting to bad credit personal loans (or sometimes business loans for bad credit), and a lot of the times these debts would have been a result of credit card abuse. Despite this driving the Australian economy by having people spend more, it is not necessarily a good thing to the Australian citizens in the long run. The peak of credit card abusage is generally seen approximately the season of Christmas.
Figures as of November from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority have shown that credit card loans in Australia have topped the $40 billion mark with a whopping $40.6 billion. Chief executive of RateCity, a financial comparisons service, Damian Smith says that the problem with consumers is they have little control over their credit card expenses, and that they should in fact be repaying more than just the suggested repayment minimum. ¡°If someone with a credit card debt of $5000 repaid their balance at a rate of just 2 per cent per month, it would take them 29 years and four months to clear it and cost them over $6500 in interest,¡± Smith says.
Financial Counselling Australia executive director Fiona Guthrie suggests that the best way to deal with credit debt is just to ¡°sit down and go back to basics¡±. What this means is to look at the basics of both your finances and the terms involved in the credit card. If you do not want to resort to personal loans, bad credit personal loans, or even business loans for bad credit, you should reassess your expenses and your income. It should be clear to you how much you can spend, and avoid any unnecessary spending, as having debt can be incredibly stressful.
What you want to do if you already have credit card debt is to try and resolve those without resorting to external sources of financial assistance. Only if it¡¯s necessary should you resort to personal loans, business loans for bad credit or unsecured bad credit loans. At the end, get rid of your credit cards, and avoid being persuaded by their marketing plots with fancy words such as guaranteed or minimum interest. The only thing that using credit cards will guarantee is problems through spending money you don¡¯t have.
