Jersey Shore has been all around, with the cast moving from one location to another. First New Jersey, then Miami, followed by Italy and now possibly even Queensland Australia. Ninemsn has released reports on Tourism Queensland being highly open for discussion on the subject, believing that bringing the show to Australian shores would attract more tourists.
The idea was first sparked during the show¡¯s season five promotion campaign, where some house members expressed interest in filming the show¡¯s finale season in ¡®the Land Down Under¡¯. The Situation (Michael Sorrentino) told E Online that he wanted to visit Australia because ¡°all the girls are hot¡±; While Ronnie Ortiz-Magro wanted to ¡°experience the culture¡±.
Tourism Queensland is very open to the idea, with their spokeswoman commenting, ¡°We would welcome any interest and discussion¡±. They believe that the Sunshine state has much to offer to the show, being ¡°Australia¡¯s playground¡± - they have the theme parks, the beach, the tropical weather and, most importantly, the vibrant nightlife. With so much appeal, it would seem that Queensland has much to offer the show and, in return, the show would have much to offer Queensland in the tourism department.
Though others would argue otherwise, the show¡¯s first season in New Jersey had elicited controversy. It was accused of validating negative Italian-American stereotypes and having negative influences on younger generation.
However, nothing is for certain yet. The idea is out and Queensland is willing but Tourism Queensland¡¯s spokeswoman says that before agreeing to anything, they will require details and approval from the show¡¯s producers first.
